Derived from the Ojibwe word ‘waabooz’ or ‘rabbit’ – Waupoos is one community within the ward of North Marysburgh. Originally called Fifth Town, this eastern arm of The County is apple country and boasts a variety of pick-your-own lake-side farms and vineyards. A full horn-trip takes you out to the point from Cape Vessey, to Cressy, Prinyer’s Cove and back to the local natural phenomena at Lake on the Mountain Provincial Park. The Glenora Ferry can be seen from the park, taking travelers further east along the Loyalist Parkway towards Kingston. No shortage of stunning Lake Ontario views here.
