Named after Stella Pamajewon Marshall, Chef Leah Marshall Hannon’s great grandmother, this new Picton restaurant is a place you can come to eat good comfort food and enjoy a nice drink.
Stella raised her family on a Reserve at the shores of Pickerel River. With only a small isolated general store for supplies, her community foraged, hunted and depended on the abundance mother nature offered them. Stella honed the wisdom and techniques passed down to her from her ancestors, and created comfort in the form of food.
The stories and shared meals passed down within her family made an impression on Chef Leah, and became the inspiration behind Stella’s Eatery. The menu honours the legacy of grandmothers, mothers and daughters gathering around a fire, or a table. The menu is constantly changing, subject to the availability of local, fresh, foraged, seasonal ingredients. We aim to support female entrepreneurs, business owners, winemakers, farmers, and community-members as much as possible.
