The Fifth Town Artisan Cheese Company is a privately owned, environmentally and socially responsible enterprise producing fine hand made cheeses using fresh, locally produced goat, buffalo and cows milk cheeses (we do not manufacture with sheep’s milk). The product development processes reflects the spirit of the Fifth Town brand, which aims to integrate traditional methods, contemporary tastes, and craftsmanship ethics with local terroir. Situated on 20 acres of agricultural land on the eastern ridge of Prince Edward County, the 4800 square foot Fifth Town dairy processing, retail and educational facility enhances the practice of artisan cheese making with advanced sustainable design. The project achieved Platinum LEED accreditation under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program in March 2009.
In the summer, we have cheese and charcuterie boards available in our (Re)Source Pavillion, plus BBQs on the weekends. For more information on upcoming dates, please visit our website during months of June-September. Self-Guided Green Building Tour maps are available all year round.
While Fifth Town has a passion for fostering partnerships in our area by using locally produced products, Fifth Town Artisan Cheese also imports our fine cheeses internationally from such far-off places as Italy! This dynamic range of cheeses from all around the world truly brings a unique experience to Fifth Town Artisan Cheese!
