Rules

  1. The Taste the County’s “Summer in the County” contest is open to all residents, having attained the age of 18, except representatives, employees and agents of Taste the County, InfoLink Web Site Development and Cottage Advisors of Canada, the judges and persons with whom any of the aforementioned are domiciled.
  2. The Taste the County’s “Summer in the County” contest commences at 8:00 a.m. ET on August 1, 2010 and closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on March 15, 2011 (the “Contest Period”). Taste the County and/or Cottage Advisors or Canada reserves the right to extend or terminate the contest at will.
  3. To enter Taste the County’s “Summer in the County” contest, simply visit www.visitpec.ca/contest between August 1, 2010 and 11:59 p.m. ET on March 15, 2011 and fill out the necessary entry form or printed ballot. No purchase necessary. Contest sponsors include, but are not limited to, Taste the County, Cottage Advisors of Canada, From the Farm Cooking School, History Lives Here Experience, Blumen Garden Bistro, Portabella Restaurant, By Chadseys Caims, Hillier Creek Estates, Sandbanks Estate Winery, Grange of Prince Edward, County Grapevine, Avon – Diane Denyes, JC Nyman Farms, Copper Kettle Chocolate, and others (collectively the “Contest Sponsors”). All entries must include your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address and specified demographic information. Limit one entry for the entire Contest Period per person per e-mail address and per household. Entries received shall be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g.) business, educational institution, etc. that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Illegible entries, bulk drop-off or mechanical reproductions or facsimile entries are ineligible.
  4. There will be one (1) Grand Prize to be won, consisting of: four (4) week overnight accommodations provided by Sandbanks Summer Village, cooking class for two (2) a the From the Farm Cooking School, History Lives Here Experience tour valued up to $100, complimentary dinner at Blumen Garden Bistro for two, $100 gift card for dinner at Portabella Restaurant, $40 gift card to By Chadseys Caims, four bottles of wine from Hillier Creek Estates, wine tasting passport for 6 people and bottle of Baco Noir Resever (value $50) to Sandbanks Estate Winery, VIP tour, tasting, and picnic lunch for 10 at the Grange of Prince Edward County, complimentary year subscription to The County Grapevine magazine, gift basket of Avon sub products, litre of JC Nyman Farms maple syrup, $20 gift certificate to Copper Kettle Chocolate, additional prizes may be included. It is the winner’s sole responsibility along with their travelling companion(s) for all costs not expressly described herein including, without limitation, transportation, meals and beverages, local taxes if applicable (not including itemized prize list above), telephone calls, all personal expenses of any kind or nature. Accomodations subject to space availability and subject to change without notice or compensation. It is the winner’s responsibility and their travelling companion(s) for all cost incurred to and from the departure point as the prize originates and terminates in Prince Edward County.
  5. It is also the winner’s responsibility and their travelling companion(s) to obtain all necessary travel documentation including passports and visas if applicable and to comply with any customs immigration requirements. It is recommended that the winner and his/her travelling companion(s) obtain sufficient personal insurance prior to departure. The Prize has an approximate retail value of $5,000.00. Actual value of the Grand Prize will depend on final prize inclusions. Winner and/or Guest is not entitled to retail value or monetary difference between actual prize value and stated approximate prize value, if any.
  6. Prize winner waives all recourse against Contest Sponsors if services offered do not prove to be entirely satisfactory.
  7. Taste the County and/or Cottage Advisors of Canada reserves the right at its sole discretion to substitute the accomodations, or other prize inclusions, if the grand prize as described cannot be awarded for any reason. Taste the County and/or Cottage Advisors of Canada reserves the right to amend or terminate all or any portion of this contest at any time for any reason without prior notice.
  8. Entries are subject to verification by the contest administrators. All fraudulent or incomplete entries will be rejected and will not be eligible. Decisions of the judges in this matter are final.
  9. There will be one (1) random draw to be made at Taste the County headquarters at 289 Main St., Bloomfield Town Hall, Lower Level, P.O. Box 442, Bloomfield, Ontario, Canada K0K 1G0 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET on March 25, 2011. The winner will be announced at the Maple in the County event on March 26, 2011. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line and print entries received during the Contest Period. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win the prize. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
  10. The Contest Sponsors will attempt to contact the potential winner by telephone within five (5) business days after the draw. Proof of identification must be provided upon request. In order to be declared a winner, the potential winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question. Before being awarded the prize, the potential winner will be required to sign a declaration and release form stating that he/she has read, understood and complied with these official contest rules, grants all consents required as contemplated in these Contest Rules, authorizes the Contest Sponsors to broadcast, publish and disseminate his/her name, address, photograph likeness and voice, in connection with any promotion or publicity, and/or for federal news, entertainment and information purposes at no compensation to the potential winner, accepts the prize as offered and releases the Contest Sponsors from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the potential winner’s participation in this contest and receipt and use of the prize. In the event that the potential winner is not eligible, cannot be contacted by the Contest Sponsors within five (5) business days following the draw, does not correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question within the time limit, does not sign and return the release within the specified time, Contest Sponsors shall have the right to disqualify that potential winner and to draw an alternate potential winner and the Contest Sponsors shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this.
  11. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and local laws and regulations.
  12. Prize must be accepted as awarded without substitution. Prize is not transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be sold, exchanged or bartered. Request for refund will not be entertained.
  13. Any dispute or claim relating to organization or conduct of this promotional contest may be addressed to Cottage Advisors, LLC. A dispute relating to the attribution of the prize may also be submitted to Cottage Advisors, LLC who will limit its intervention to facilitating settlement between the parties.
  14. Contest Sponsors and the contest judging organization are not responsible for theft, loss of any form or any human or computer-generated error in the awarding of the prize, nor for the loss or misplacing of any control coupon.

Terms and Conditions

In consideration of the awarding of the Prize to me following Verification, I hereby:

  1. accept the Prize and acknowledge that the Prize is as described in the Rules and Regulations;
  2. fully discharge and release Contest Sponsors and Taste the County ("Taste"), their respective affiliates, franchisees and advertising and promotional agencies; their respective directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents; and their respective heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns, from any and all claims, demands, payments, actions, or causes of action whatsoever for damages, loss or injury, howsoever arising as a result of my participating in the Contest and accepting the Prize which I or my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors or assigns may now or hereafter have against them or any of them;
  3. consent to the use of my name, address, comments and any photograph and/or any video image taken of me and/or the Prize by or on behalf Contest Sponsors and/or Taste the County and/or its/their affiliates and/or their advertising and promotional agencies without compensation or other liability to me or my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors or assigns; and
  4. I declare that:
    1. I have complied with, and will comply with all the Rules and Regulations of the Contest, and have answered the skill-testing question in the manner prescribed;
    2. I am an individual resident and neither I nor any person with whom I reside is employed by Taste the County (Taste), Cottage Advisors of Canada, Inc. (CAC) and wholly and partially owned subsidiaries of CAC and Taste, the judges and persons with whom any of the aforementioned are domiciled. Taste or their respective affiliates, or any of their advertising or promotional agencies;
    3. I am of the legal age of majority according to the laws of the province of Ontario; and
    4. the terms of the Rules and Regulations and this Release Form shall apply to and be binding on me and my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns.

Privacy Policy

This website is owned by Cottage Advisors of Canada (CAC) and hosted by Taste the County.

Taste the County and CAC respects the privacy of each individual with whom it comes into contact, either as an entrant into the Taste the County’s “Summer in the County” contest or as a visitor to the contest website. Taste the County and CAC will not collect any personally identifiable information about you, such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address, unless you provide it to us.

At the close of the contest, all collected data will be submitted to Taste the County, InfoLink, and CAC. These entities will not give, rent or sell any personal information about any visitor to the contest website or any personal information about any contestant to any organization or individual. Information deemed confidential and/or anonymous on the ballot form will be used solely for market research purposes. Taste the County, InfoLink, and CAC reserves the right to contact entrants via phone or email in regards to their offerings and promotions in consideration to the noted preferred method of contact on the ballot form.

Taste the County may use the personal information collected to contact you regarding the winning of a prize through the Taste the County’s “Summer in the County” contest. Your use of the contest website and ballot submission constitutes your consent to the collection and use by Taste the County , InfoLink, and CAC of your information as described in the Privacy Policy. If you have already submitted the information and would like to have it removed from our records, please send an e-mail with your request to tastethecounty@bellnet.ca.
